Musee d'Orsay, Paris, France

The beautiful Musée d’Orsay was a train station until architects created a beautiful art museum across the river from the Louvre. The Musée d’Orsay is most known for its vast collection of Impressionist art, but it also has a beautiful collection of Belle Epoque furniture, photographs and sculpture.

Every Impressionist you can think of is exhibited here, on the top floor of the museum: Monet, Manet, van Gogh, Cézanne, Renoir, Dégas, etc. The Louvre would not exhibit their work in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so they had to house their own exhibits. Now they have their own museum, which really holds its own to the Louvre. Don’t leave Paris without a visit to the Musée d’Orsay.
