This hotel is under the same ownership as the famed Café Deux Magots in the same neighborhood. It’s very well located in the center of the hustle and bustle of the St. Germain neighborhood. Rooms are comfortable and spotless and include modern marble bathrooms. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Elevator does not reach the breakfast room, which should be noted. For a larger room, book the deluxe.

We stayed here from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, 2010 after a 5 night stay at Le Bristol (a very high-end swanky hotel in the 8th). I have to say that I preferred Le Regent much more than our first hotel. The staff was excellent and helpful (esp. the night watch). The room (a superior room on the 6th floor) was more spacious than I anticipated and the decor was very lovely. The bathroom was large enough and clean. Our room faced right onto rue Dauphine and there was some construction during the day but we sleep perfectly at night, even with the lively streets below. The bed (two twins pushed together and made with one sheet- the size of a king) was incredibly comfortable as was the cozy duvet. The bar fridge was perfect for storing water and snacks. The television was small- but we weren’t in Paris to watch t.v! The price (230 Euros/night) was very reasonable, esp. in this area of Paris. Great value for our money!
The location of this hotel is ideal. I stayed by myself for the first day and a half and felt very comfortable walking around, finding good places to eat (and shop!). You can turn around any corner and find another amazing street. I walked about 6 hours every day just exploring Paris and soaking it all in. The hotel is walking distance to many destinations (Sorbonne, rue Mouffetarde, Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame and Ste-Chapelle, Marais district, Louvre, Seine- even the Eiffel Tower is only about a 30 minute walk). It’s close to the Metro which is incredibly easy to use. I highly recommend it!
